Phew! I can actually hear a little bit better now. Man, those tweenie boppers were screaming their lungs out last night... all for boys in tight jeans! So, this is an update to my previous entry. Steve and I ended up taking the metro to the Verizon Center. I HATE the metro. I get crucial motion sickness so I ended up staring at my feet for most of the way, and tried my best to think about something other than feeling sick. I was def out of my element!
We got there in one piece (thank goodness) and there were TONS of people. Some were really on a mission, too! As I reached for the door, a mom and a group of kids pushed me out of the way and totally cut in front of me! Unbelievable. Anniewho, Steve and I picked up our passes at Will Call just fine... but I did overhear some people saying they had problems getting their tickets. What a nightmare. Imagine paying all that $$$ only to be turned away or whatev. Actually, forget the $$$... it's the upset tweens that are trouble! Ugh. Gotta thank Honor Society's manager "N" for hookin' it up. This was a SOLD OUT concert! Couldn't say NO to his invite. :0P
Remember how I was lookin' forward to the Korean group "The Wonder Girls?" WELL, what a HUGE disappointment. They only did one song and it wasn't even the one I like! Fooey. The other opening band "Honor Society" did a fabulous job. WOW. These guys performed for us live in studio yesterday morning but it was a totally different experience @ the Verizon Center. The drummer Alex is AWESOME. Apparently, he used to be a part of the Jonas Brothers? Hmmm. The manager did tell Steve & I that one of the H.S. guys were friends with the Jonas Brothers...and that's how they got to be on tour together. That makes sense!
After they performed, H.S. held a "meet & greet" in a secluded area. I made Steve go up & down the stairs a few times, and we were both soooo hot & sweaty. LOL!! He worked hard... what a great friend! Thx Steve!! The line was super loooong. Everyone had different colored wristbands on too... ours were blue but I saw green and red ones. Anniewho, I scoped out their manager "N" and quickly got his attention by waving my arms really hard. OMG. Loser. BUT...mission accomplished! He saw us and we got to walk right on in... 2nd in line baby! I'm sure we got a lot of glares. But I felt like this made up for the moment that mom pushed me out the way @ Will Call. :0)
GOT MY OFFICIAL GROUPIE PIC:
... AND SO DID STEVE:
He fits right in! :0) OH! And the boys totally remembered us. So humble and sweet.
The Jonas Brothers were fab-O. The energy was sick! Here's the opening:
I always thought the Jonas Brothers were OK but now that I've seen them live and in color... I think they are pretty fab and very talented. I'm a total fan! Although, they could ease up on the tight jeans. Looks like it could cut off circulation... not good!
Seeing all these girls go crazy yesterday, and yes they were going NUTSO...made me think about who I obsessed over as a tween. Hmmm. I loved me some Devon Sawa. I used to write to his fan club all the time. 365/24/7. Pathetic!! He was super cute in "Casper"... but he sorta lost it as he got older. I also liked Jonathan Taylor Thomas from "Home Improvement" and 98 degrees. That Nick Lachey is OH SO dreamy. Oh, fine! I'll stop grossing you out!
ENJOY SOME PICS FROM LAST NIGHT!
